How to Install an Under Cabinet TV
If you want to know the best way to install an under cabinet TV then I have provided some practical tips on how to do this for you below.
The most important thing to get right is measuring the space correctly, this is not hard to do but I know of people who have rushed this and messed up the installation as a result.
Most units will provide you with the basic tools that you’ll need to install your TV, but if not you may need some of basic things, such as a screw driver, or power drill is better, and also ruler and pencil.
Placement
I really cannot stress enough how important it is for you to consider the placement of your under cabinet tv. You have to think about visibility of the screen from all angles of the room, how much space you will need behind the unit for cords and if any external AV cords will be need, for example speakers. You also need to think about satelittle box if you have one.
Once you are sure you have enough space and the correct position then you can move on to the next step.
Next I recommend that you remove anything that might be in the way, such as railings under the cabinet, just make sure the space is clear and also before you start to install please make sure you have checked the box to see that all the parts are needed. The last thing you want is to have a half installed TV and then find out there is a bracket missing!
Before you install the mounting brackets, I would also lift the TV up and test that it will actually fit nicely in the space. Next make sure you read the instructions!
Mounting Brackets
The next thing you need to do is place the mounting brackets under the cabinet and mark the place where you will be drilling. Some under counter TV’s come a paper placeholder that you can hold under the cabinet and draw marks where the brackets screws need to go, this makes it much easier to align everything, so check if your unit came with this.
Once you have the brackets firmly screwed in, then you simply need to attach the TV to these, just be careful to have your hands under it the first time, incase you haven’t attached it properly and the unit falls, its happened before!
There are different kinds of mounting brackets that come with units, some of them attach to the top of the TV and the screen hangs down on a swivel, which I think are the best kind, however you can also get hinge brackets like Arrowmounts model, they do the job but they are not quite as practical as the swivel models, like the Audiovox under cabinet TV has.
That’s pretty much all you need to know about installing an under cabinet TV, enjoy!
